Christmas time is upon us and that means that you’re going to need to get the house prepared and in shape for the festive season. Below are some tips for doing just that:
Trees – go multiple
Does having just one Christmas tree stuck in the same corner every year seem a bit boring to you, then why not invest in multiple but smaller trees to place around the home. You could even decorate each one according to the theme of the room that it is placed in.
Lights – time to get them out
The days are at their darkest at this time of year and it time to give your home that added sparkle it deserves. Get your some extra set of fairylights (there not just for the tree) and spread them around the home, draping over mantelpieces, banisters or even above coving for example to add a festive glow.
Candles – fake it
Candles scream Christmas but with kids, pets and the odd ‘overly merry’ guest or relation they can create a dangerous element in your home. Investing in some flameless electronic candles will give you the same warming, glowing effect and will negate any worries that could have arisen otherwise.
These days you can even find electronic candles that are also scented.
Cards – Show them off
Get creative with your cards don’t simply line them up on the windowsill. Hang them from tinsel or strips of ribbon at varying heights or attached them around the edge of a wreath hat is hanging from the wall.
The outdoors – Don’t forget about it
Don’t forget to festivise the outside of your home as well, a great way to do this is to use freestanding rope lights which you can get as long lengths to accentuated the perimeter of your garden or you can get them in pre-made shapes such as Santa or Rudolf to really at that Christmas feel.
